Girl Scout Earns Gold Award for Music Education Program

Rachel Abrahamson who use to work in a Granby daycare earns gold award and she felt that the opportunity of music education for children is missing.
Abrahamson who is 19 years old and living in West Granby was graduated from Granby high school while she is studying now at a college. However, she started a plan to include music in the daycare.
Abraham said that my focus was to make a plan how to bring music in our lives. The summary of my essay was how music changes children brain and their language development. Moreover, she explained that this helped them very much so how can we give attention on it to incorporate it more and show the significance of music to redirect people’s mind in that way.
Abrahamson, worked with the employees of daycare and also parents of the attending children. She focused to convey them the message regarding benefits of music education.
I used to send survey at home in the starting just to ask if the children sing at their homes and have they any interest in music or do they dance. I got such amazing response that I wasn’t expecting at all that there would such a great impact on them.
Abrahamson added that during the early stages of your kid, it is important for music to be exist in your kid’s life.
Abrahamson has been involved in music from years and she said that from very young age I wanted to learn the musical education. She said that the turning point that she got was after the eighth grade. That was her high school chorus that really persuaded her towards music education.
Abrahamson will also arrange the instrument for the daycare and will give a hands on experience for all the kids as she started an interest among the kids.
Abrahamson said that hopefully other daycares will also take interest in what she already has developed, and she will happily share her lessons plans to anyone who wish to include some more music for their services.
