Music & Dance Courses

  1. Registration must be completed by all new students with a one-off registration fee of AED150.
  2. All communications for booking and rescheduling of lessons and making payments etc. must be done at the reception. Melodica cannot be held responsible if communications are made directly with the teachers.
  3. All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  4. Melodica's code of conduct and studio policies must be adhered to at all times.
  5. Melodica will be closed during UAE and Islamic holidays which are subject to change as per government and KHDA announcements. Classes will operate as normal during school half-term holidays.
  6. Melodica may take photos and videos during lessons and performances to be used for marketing, social media and other publications as required.
  7. Your lessons will be booked at a regular time slot each week, for your full course ahead. Should you wish to change this time, please advise the reception at least a week in advance, the lesson will be rescheduled if there is availability.
  8. Renewal of your course must be made a minimum of 2 lessons prior to the end of your current course. Melodica will try to reserve your same lesson schedule where available, however, times cannot be held on the timetable without payment, and reception cannot be responsible for following up on students to rebook their courses. Therefore, to secure a fixed time for a period ahead we offer longer packages. Therefore, to secure a fixed time for a period ahead we offer longer packages.
  9. Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson. If you are late the teacher cannot extend beyond your scheduled end time, to prevent disruption of other students.
  10.  It is mandatory that the parent or guardian of the student is inside or within the school premises 5 minutes before the class ends to ensure the student’s safety.
  11. Parents /Guardians are requested to come and meet the teacher of your child 5 minutes before the end of every lesson to be updated with his/her progress and to be informed of what he/she must practice at home.
  12. A Minimum of 24 hours’ notice must be given in writing if a student cannot attend a class as per schedule.
  13. The maximum cancellations and considerations are listed on the price list per course.
  14. A make-up lesson will be given at the availability of any teacher’s schedule, may not be your own teacher and must be booked at the time of the cancellation. If a lesson is missed or less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, no compensation can be given this includes illness and emergency, etc.
  15. Rescheduled lessons and make-up lessons cannot be changed again and must be booked at the time of canceling the original lesson only. It is the student's responsibility to book any requested make-up lesson.
  16. If the teacher is unavailable for make-up lessons or the student cannot come at the offered times, then the lesson is forfeited, Make-up lessons cannot be carried forward beyond the course expiry.
  17. Should a lesson be canceled by Melodica due to public holidays or a teacher’s absence, a replacement lesson will be offered at the earliest convenience during the course dates and cannot be carried forward beyond the course expiry.
  18. Melodica reserves the right to change schedule and teachers at any necessary time, the student will be reassigned an appropriate teacher or offered to freeze until their teacher is available again, refunds will not be given where a teacher leaves.
  19. Students are responsible to bring their instrument and required books for class and to practice at home as needed. Failure to practice or bring the necessary books may impact on the students' progress.
  20.  Courses can be frozen in writing as per the limitations of their package plus July and August.
  21. The grace period of packages can ONLY be used for freezing and NOT for makeup lessons.
  22. Makeup lessons should be booked in the same week or before the next lesson.
  23. Dance students must only attend the classes appropriate to their level and age as directed by the instructor.
  24. Packages must be completed within the expiry period, no extension can be offered, with the exception of July + August. Freezing of packages is only permitted with 2 weeks' written notice to the Reception.
  25. Freezing during July + August is offered in addition to the expiry period.
  26. Dance students must wear an appropriate uniform for every class.
  27. In order to avoid disruption to the class and other students, studio policies must be adhered to at all times.
  28. For any change of subject or duration or location, there will be a charge of AED150 processing fee.
  29. The request can only be granted for 3, 6- and 9-months packages.
  30. The allocation of the lesson timings is subject to availability. Kindly contact the center to know about the availability of the desired schedule.

Our Exams

  1. Melodica registers the student to the examination board.
  2. All exam fees should be paid in full upon registrations and are non-refundable.
  3. Exam Admin fee payable to Melodica along with the examination entry form - AED105.
  4. All registrations are final. In cases of withdrawals, non-attendance, a candidate is entitled to a partial refund under certain circumstances based on the examination board's policies.
  5. Melodica will continue to monitor your child's exam preparations. Melodica has the right to withdraw any student from the examinations if progress is not met.
  6. Exam dates are announced by the examination board three weeks prior to the exam and are deemed final.

Our Lessons in DIA

  1. All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Payment and communications via other persons will not be recognized. Melodica cannot be held responsible if communications are made directly with the teachers.
  4. Books, examination fees, accessories, and instruments are not included in the lesson price.
  5. Melodica recommends that all students should also purchase a book package fee available for AED150, any additional books required later in the term will be an additional cost.
  6. Fees can be paid by cash or card – cheque and bank transfer will not be accepted.
  7. For any change of subject, Melodica will try to accommodate any requested changes. Such changes are dependent on the availability of teachers. Melodica reserves the right to reject any requested changes. Any confirmed changes will be subject to a 150AED processing fee.
  8. For any change of location, such changes are dependent on the availability of teachers and timings. Melodica reserves the right to reject any requested changes. Any confirmed changes will be subject to a 150AED processing fee and payment of any due lesson costs in the new location.
  9. The stated prices are available only for students who attend and will attend Melodica Instrumental Lessons in the applicable partner school.
  10. Lessons will be booked as a rotating time each week. Should you have a valid reason (school trip, the government requested school closure or examination) and wish to change this time please advise the School Partnership Coordinator at least 24-hours in advance, the lesson will be rescheduled if there is availability.
  11. Students who aren’t collected should arrive at the teaching room shortly before the scheduled lesson timing – unless collected as per the collection policy. Lessons are for 30 or 45 minutes, if the student is late the teacher cannot extend beyond the scheduled end time, to prevent disruption of other students.
  12. Start of lesson; Pre-KG – Grade 5 will be collected from their classrooms by the Melodica teacher.
  13. End of lesson; Pre-KG – Grade 1 students will be collected at the end of the lesson by DIA staff. Grade 2 and older will make their own way back to their curriculum lessons.
  14. Lessons will take place during the school day, meaning that some curriculum lesson (including Maths, English, and Science) will be missed. Melodica will to the best of its ability to avoid consecutive missed curriculum lessons during 1 term.
  15.  Lessons cannot be fixed to subjects as per Melodica, the partner school, and KHDA policy
  16. Students are responsible to bring their required books for class and to practice at home as needed. Failure to practice or bring the necessary books may impact on the student’s progress.
  17. Basic instruments will be made available in each teaching location for use duration the scheduled lesson only – these instruments cannot be taken home. Melodica recommends that all students purchase an instrument for home practice.
  18. Parents/Guardians are requested to come and meet the teacher at termly Parents-Teacher Conferences which will take place in the school associated with these lessons.
  19. Should a lesson be canceled by Melodica due to a teacher’s absence or a lack of a substitute teacher, a replacement lesson will be offered at the earliest convenience during the course dates and cannot be requested as a credit in the next term.
  20. Melodica reserves the right to change the schedule and teachers at any time.
  21. Melodica may take photos and videos during lessons and performances to be used for marketing, social media and other publications as required.

 

  1. All fees are subject to 5% Value Added Tax (VAT).
  2. These terms and conditions are final; where a discrepancy occurs between the understanding of the information given by staff and the written terms and conditions the written terms will prevail.
